Sportika Gallagher Elite 13U Wins USABL World Series

Congratulations to the Sportika Gallagher Elite 13U team on winning the USABL World Series! It was a great team effort from every player and coach.

The scoreless game was broken by Hampton Sanders’ single up the middle, scoring Keith Tillett. Also, Justin Herbstman shut down the Baseball Warehouse offense by throwing 6 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, John Grano grounded out but got in the second run, giving Sportika Gallagher a 2-0 lead going into the final inning. After a passed ball in the top of the 7th inning, it was a single-run game, and runners were on second and third base with two outs. The following batter hit a ball into the hole, but Mike Villani saved the game by making a diving stop and throwing out the runner at first to secure the World Series championship.

Anthony Gubitosi was faced with a difficult situation in the final inning, coming into the game with the bases loaded and only one out, but he kept his composure and was able to get the final two outs of the game.

Overall, this was a great game by the boys and coaches! Sportika Gallagher 13U Elite has now added another accomplishment to their impressive season.
